7 Jan 20 singers plus 3 Trainee Music Leaders 1.25 hours

• Introduction to the new pieces to be performed in March.
• Sing through Green Songs
• Good to meet one new member and to welcome back the rest after the concert.
• Good feedback from the concert performance – generally proud and excited by the concert.

14 Jan 19 singers + 3 1.25 hours

• Work mainly on Green songs and I bought me a cat
• Introduced simple songs from Hip Hip Horatio.

21 Jan 20 singers + 3 1.25 hours

• More work on pitch and volume – particularly hitting the high notes
• Vincent has prepared mp3 versions of all the pieces in the program – published on website.
• Last few logo entries received.

28 Jan 20 singers + 2 1.25 hours

• A long warm up – with lots of exercises to help develop voice strength and control, particularly crescendo/diminuendo.
• More work on musical ability – tuning and breath control featured highly

4 Feb 20 singers + 2 1.25 hours

• Hard work on Hip Hip Horatio – very wordy piece – younger singers don’t understand what they are singing about.

11 Feb 19 singers + 3 1.25 hours

• Hard work on Hip Hip Horatio –
• Green Songs coming together – young people enjoy them
• I bought me a cat – nearly all learned now.

18 Feb 20 singers + 3 1.25 hours

• More Hard work on Hip Hip Horatio –
• Green Songs done well
• I bought me a cat – run through

25 Feb 20 singers + 2 1.25 hours

• Green songs – added some choreography to enhance performance – looks good when it is synchronised!
• I bought me a cat – very good – seem confident
• Hip Hip Horatio – still weak – words complex and difficult to sing. Some numbers quite strong but others very weak.

3 March 18 singers + 3 1.25 hours

• Green songs coming together – actions need more rejearsal
• Hip Hip Horatio – feels under-rehearsed – Colin still introducing new pieces.
• No time for I bough me a cat

10 March 19 singers + 3 1.25 hours

• Final rehearsal before concert on Saturday
• Sang through all of HHH – still some weaknesses particularly the words – young singers asked to use the CDs to rehears at home!
• Choir uniform tried on – generally liked
• Long and exhausting rehearsal
