Colin
and Vincent - working hard in rehearsal
Colin Davey and Vincent Webb work with the
young singers at rehearsal in the hall at Portchester Community
College.Rehearsals start at 5.30 pm on Monday evenings - and last until 6.45.
We generally start with some warm-up and voice development exercises before the choir begin to work on the pieces they next have to perform. Despite working hard, everyone seems to do a lot of laughing!
We have a break at half-time to socialise and take some refreshment.
We provide mp3 files to help the young singers to sing through the music at home between rehearsals.
Vincent at the piano
Vincent Webb has become our regular
accompanist - he is a brilliant young pianist who is being tutored by
Karen Kingsley (the official accompanist for Fareham Philharmonic
Choir).Vincent hopes to go on from sixth form to study music at University - and we hope that the experience he gets from playing for us will help him achieve that aim.
It is one of our key objectives to develop young musicians skills - so we will be looking for another young pianist to replace Vincent when he moves on!
